![]() ![]() We will want to follow His commands because we know that He knows what’s best for us. When we have faith in God, it will lead us to obedience. One of the most important ways to live by faith is to obey God. We can have faith in Him because He is faithful. This means that we can trust that God will keep His promises. In Corinthians we are told that all of these promises are “yes and amen” in Christ. The Bible tells us that God has given us great and precious promises. We are reminded of His power, His love, and His faithfulness. When we read the Bible, we are reminded of who God is and what He has done for us. The Bible is God’s Word, and it is full of His promises. Read the BibleĪnother key way to live by faith is to read the Bible. When we pray, we are acknowledging God’s power and sovereignty. Prayer is one of the most important parts of living by faith. If we want to live by faith, there are several key things we must do 1. We might not always see the blessings right away, but we can be confident that they are coming. When we have faith in God, we can trust that He will keep His promises. He has promised to bless those who obey Him (Deuteronomy 28:1-14). When we live by faith, we can be confident that God will bless us. As it says in James 2:17, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” 5. If we truly believe God is who He says He is, then we will want to obey Him. When we have faith in God, it naturally leads to obedience. ![]() We know He is good and that He has a plan for our lives, even when we can’t see what that plan is. But it does mean that we are trusting God even when things are tough. ![]() This doesn’t mean that we will never make mistakes or have difficult times. When we live by faith, we are living in a way that is pleasing to Him. Faith pleases GodĪs we saw in Hebrews 11:6, faith is essential to please God. We are humbling ourselves before Him and saying that we trust Him to lead us and provide for us. When we have faith in Him, we are acknowledging His sovereignty and power. He knows what’s best for us, even when we don’t. He is the creator of the universe and everything in it. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” 2. You know God will never leave you or forsake you, and that He will care for you even when you make mistakes. It means you aren’t ruled by what-ifs, doubts, and worries. Living by faith means you don’t live in fear. You trust He will provide you with everything you need in life, including the ability to make wise decisions. You trust He loves you and has a plan for your life. When you live by faith, you are saying that you believe God is real AND that He is good. If we want to have a living, vital, true relationship with God, we need to have faith.īut why is living by faith so important? There are a few reasons: 1. In Hebrews 11 we’re told that “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). When we have faith in God, we trust He is real, that He loves us, and that He is working out everything in our lives for our good and His glory. If we want to experience the abundant life Jesus promised in John 10:10, we have to have faith and believe in God’s power and goodness. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder” ( James 2:19). In James we learn that even the demons believe in God: “You believe that there is one God. Many people believe that God exists but that’s not faith. It’s not about us trying to figure everything out, but about surrendering our lives to God and trusting that He knows what’s best for us. When we’re living by faith it means that we trust Him enough to follow His lead, regardless of the circumstances. In Hebrews we’re told what faith is: “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” ( Hebrews 11:1). It’s about believing and trusting God will do what He says He will do, even when we can’t see how it will happen. Faith isn’t about us, but about God’s character. What is Faith?įaith is having unwavering trust in God and His promises. In order to understand what it means to live by faith, we first need to understand the exact nature of faith. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” In Galatians 2:20 it says, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. ![]()
